A London decorated Chinese teabowl.
An interesting eighteenth century London decorated Chinese teabowl and saucer. With bands of trailing flowers framing pencilled grisaille armorials of a castle and anchor and inscribed Stockton Arms. These devices are both incorporated in the Stockton on Tees armorial and the castle is thought to depict that of Stockton Castle demolished 1652, saucer diameter 12.25cm diameter.
